Reduce next year's tax bill and support our schools!

Now is a good time to begin planning your tax strategies for next year.  The Tuition Tax Credit has been a boon to Arizona's public schools this school year. Dysart, a school in our conference, collected $234,000. Parker Unified Schools received over $12,000 in donations through this program, even though we waited until the formal ruling on the legality of the credit.

People who took advantage of the Tuition Tax Credit are receiving $200 - $400 Arizona tax credits on their returns for this year. Even if you don't itemize, the Tuition Tax Credit is a dollar for dollar credit on the amount of Arizona tax you have to pay. It allows a taxpayer to keep taxes here in our local schools rather than sending them to the State for distribution as the legislature deems appropriate.  Please click on the link below to download the Tuition Tax Form, which can be mailed to the address indicated on the form.

If you have been reading the news on the budget process, you should be well aware that education is still not a priority among the House and Senate leadership. This tax credit is an ideal mechanism for staff members to support our individual schools, even if the legislature refuses to do so. You can take advantage of this $200 - $400 credit by donating funds to participating schools anytime between now and December 31, 2008.  You will receive a receipt for your donation.
