BEAR CREEK CANYON

BEAR CREEK CANYON
Acquired by the city in 1928,
Bear Creek Canyon is a four-mile-long, 400-foot wide stretch of mountain canyon between Morrison and Idledale that surrounds Bear Creek and Colorado State Highway 74. Consisting of 130 acres of undeveloped open space, Bear Creek Canyon Park is one of several in the canyon, like O’Fallon, Little Park, Corwina Park and Morrison Park. This park has fishing access only, with hiking along the fishing areas. Belonging to the Denver Mountain Park system, this natural area, its wildlife and its plants are protected and preserved for future generations.
