Multiple Intelligences and Instructional Technologies
This website is designed to provide teachers with ideas and support for integrating technology with multiple intelligences in mind. It has five main categories: project data and information, instructional technologies, multiple intelligences, professional development, and activities.

  Project Information

My primary motivation for designing this project was to provide a resource for Parker High School teachers to give them more information and ideas about integrating technology with multiple intelligences in mind.

A major portion of this project is the professional development sessions offered to teachers. After teachers attended the in-services, some of them implemented the strategies in their classrooms.

The resources in this website are actual lessons teachers used after their trainings. More

  Multiple Intelligences

Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences gained acceptance by classroom teachers after the publication of his book Frames of Mind.  After learning more about his theory, teachers generally agree that it makes sense and agrees with their own classroom observations. More

  Instructional Technologies

Today's students need to have the necessary skills and experiences for work in the 21st century.  Some of those skills include a level of comfort in utilizing a variety of technological tools. Teachers can help students by providing a variety of learning activities using various instructional technologies.

Often using these tools also offer students opportunities to deepen their understanding of the subject matter. It is my hope that teachers find that integrating instructional technologies with lessons in multiple intelligence areas will result in increased student achievement. More

  Activities

At Parker High School, teachers are encouraged to provide activities that enable students to use higher order thinking. There are many instructional technologies that can be used for such activities. Through my professional development sessions, I offer teachers instructional technology ideas and provide teachers opportunities to share ideas with one another.

After the various professional development sessions, teachers develop lesson plans integrating technology. These lessons also provide students with opportunities to strengthen their various intelligences.  More
