the Dewey

2. Read these
PowerPoint slides for some guidelines to shelving books.
Our library uses 92 and 920 instead of B for biographies.
3.
Steps to shelving:
Take 10 shelf markers and 10 books.
Find the location where the book should go.
Put the book on the shelf and shelf marker to the left of the
book.
Make sure the books in that area are in the correct order.
If you find any books out of order either use one of your
markers and shelf it in the correct location or put it on the
cart of books to be shelved.
If you see any books in need of repair, take them off the shelf, use a sticky note and write repair needed, and leave the book on the library student desk
