 		 2nd Grading Period Using library resources.

The following assignments are designed to give students opportunities to learn more about working in a school library. These activities are included with the daily participation grade.

 

Assignment 16:  Click on the link to the website on evaulating websites. Review the information from Section 1, "What can the URL tell you?".

Assignment 17: Click on the link to the website on evaulating websites. Review the information from Section 2, "Scan the perimeter...".

Assignment 18 : Click on the link to the website on evaulating websites. Review the information from Section 3, "Quality information ".

Assignment 19: Click on the link to the website on evaulating websites. Review the information from Section 4, "What do Others Say ".

Assignment 20: Click on the link to the website on evaulating websites. Review the information from Section 5, "Does it All Add Up? ".

Assignment 21:  Click on the link to the website on evaulating websites. Review the information in the conclusion, "Rationale for evaluating ".

Assignment 22:  Part 1 of Search Tools Webquest. Read and review the webquest assignment. Decide which 2 search tools you will research and get them approved by Mrs. Leivas.

Assignment 23:  Part 2 of Search Tools Webquest. Complete the organizer for your first Search Tool. Save to your GP2 folder as lastname22Organizer1.

Assignment 24: Part 3 of Search Tools Webquest. Complete the organizer for your 2nd Search Tool. Save to your GP2 folder as lastname23Organizer2.

Assignment 25: :Part 4 of Search Tools Webquest. Use MS Publisher to create an advertising poster for Search Tool 1. Save to your GP2 folder as lastnameSearchTool1Poster.

Assignment 26: Part 5 of Search Tools Webquest. Use MS Publisher to create a sign portraying your review of the search engine. Include 5 points - either good or bad. for Search Tool 2. Save to your GP2 folder as lastnameSearchTool2Poster.

Assignment 27: Navigate to PHS Library website. Click on the link to Encarta Academic Online, the encyclopedia our has purchased. Conduct a search on the topic of your choice.

Assignment 28: Use http://www.wikipedia.org/ to research the topic from Assign. 26. How were the results similar/dissimilar? Compare the 2 online encylopedias.

Assignment 29:Help a student with the patron's catalog.

Assignment 30:: Help a student with the patron's catalog.
