We are working hard at the Parker Unified School district to bring the use of computers into the classroom in a way that will allow our teachers and students the maximum benefit from their use. One of the ways that we do this is by providing links to resources that our teachers can use to learn more about their computers and how they work as well as how our teachers can make them work better for them. The following links are provided to online tutorials that can help to accomplish this. Microsoft Outlook Email Application Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation Application Microsoft Publisher Application Microsoft FrontPage Web Editing Application Another way that we use to accomplish this are WebQuests. WebQuests are organized research projects designed by teachers, which allow students to explore areas that they would not be able to, if we were to rely on school based resources. With WebQuests, we have the ability to visit anywhere that the Internet allows us to travel. WebQuests Here are examples of WebQuests that are available on the Internet. Also check out our classroom pages where individual teachers have developed WebQuests for our classes. This WebQuest was designed for upper elementary school students studying the meaning of American culture, United States symbols and core values of the American democratic system.
Other Resources This Website has information about whale watching and both recorded and (at the right time of the year) Live recordings of whalesongs.
